Before Your Appointment:

  1. Health History: It is crucial to provide your complete medical history, medications, allergies, and any medical conditions. This ensures your safety during the procedure.

  2. Cold Sore History: If you have a history of cold sores Dr Lara recommends anti virals be taken 1-2 days prior to dermal filler appointments to reduce the risk of an outbreak.

  3. Avoid Blood-Thinning Medications: Discuss discontinuation of blood-thinning medications or supplements (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil) with your primary care provider prior to your procedure to reduce bruising risk.

  4. Avoid Acid Peels and Active Products: Refrain from using acid peels, retinoids, or active skincare products for 48 hours before and 2 weeks post procedure.

  5. Alcohol and Smoking: Avoid alcohol and smoking 24 hours before the procedure to minimize bleeding and healing complications.

  6. Hydration: Stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your procedure for effective healing.

  7. Avoid Sun Exposure: Limit sun exposure and tanning beds for one week before your appointment.

On the Day of Your Appointment:

  1. Cleansing: Arrive with a clean face, free of makeup, lotions, or any other products. We'll cleanse your skin before the procedure.

  2. Comfortable Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing for easy access to the treatment area.

  3. Arrive Early: Arrive 15 minutes early for paperwork and preparations.

After Your Appointment:

Immediate Aftercare: You may experience swelling, redness, or bruising post-procedure. Anti-wrinkle effects may take up to 14 days to become noticeable, which is normal.

  1. Lumps and Bumps: It's common to notice lumps and bumps after dermal filler injections. These typically resolve within days or weeks.

  2. Medications: Follow post-treatment medication instructions if prescribed by Dr. Lara.

  3. Avoid Touching: Refrain from touching or rubbing the treated area to prevent irritation.

  4. Avoid Excessive Heat: Stay away from saunas and hot tubs for at least two weeks post-procedure.

  5. Avoid facials, face waxing, IPL and Glycolic or AHA peels for two weeks post-treatment.

  6. Avoid Strenuous Exercise: Limit strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours after treatment.

  7. Follow-up Appointments: A follow-up may be necessary to evaluate results and address concerns.

  8. Avoid leaving the country for 14 days to ensure adequate follow up
