FAQs
Why choose a doctor directed medical aesthetic clinic?
Doctors have a comprehensive understanding of medical conditions, potential complications, and how to manage them and keep up to date on the latest research. Medical Aesthetic Doctors often do extensive training in other areas of medicine, such as Dr Lara who has obtained her specialist registration in General Practice prior to training in aesthetics. This enhanced knowledge enables doctors to provide the best evidence based care and reduces the risk of adverse outcomes.
What can I expect during an injectable consultation?
During your consultation you can expect a thorough assessment of your unique needs and goals. We will discuss treatment options, answer your questions, and create a personalised plan tailored to you.
How long do the results of injectables last?
The duration of results can vary based on the specific injectable used and individual factors. Generally, results last several months to a year or more. We will provide guidance on maintenance and follow-up treatments as needed.
What is the pain like?
We use a variety of analgesics including nerve blocks, numbing agents and distraction techniques.
If you are concerned about pain during your procedure please discuss this during your consult and if appropriate Dr Lara will offer you prescription analgesia.
Is there downtime with injectables?
Injectables often involve minimal to no downtime. We will provide post-treatment care instructions to ensure a smooth recovery.
What are some potential complications associated with injectables?
While complications are rare, they can include bruising, swelling, redness, or temporary asymmetry. In very rare cases, more serious complications like infection or vascular occlusion may occur. Dr. Lara is trained to recognise and manage these issues to ensure your safety.
What should I do if I experience complications after treatment?
If you experience any unusual or concerning side effects or complications following an injectable treatment, contact us immediately. We will provide guidance on how to manage the issue and, if necessary, arrange follow-up in clinic.
